Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Chess 3D Play and Learn mobile game, operated by Cognitive Squad. By installing or using the Game you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

1. Free to play

The Game is free. It shows no ads and has no energy or lives system. There are no in-app purchases in this release: the Game cannot take a payment from you. If we add a store in a later version, it will be described in the Game before anything is offered for sale.

2. Accounts

• You may play as a guest, sign in with Google, or (on iPhone and iPad) use Sign in with Apple. Online play, ratings and the leaderboard need an account.
• One account per person. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required where you live.
• You are known to other players by your handle. It must not impersonate anyone, and must not be offensive, abusive or misleading; we may change or reset a handle that is. Handles can be changed once every 30 days.
• A guest account lives on one device. Link Google or Apple if you want your rating and history to survive losing or replacing the phone — linking keeps the guest account’s rating, history and Academy progress.

3. Coins and cosmetics

Coins are a play-only currency earned by playing, capped per day, and spent only on cosmetic items. Coins, cosmetics, ratings, trophies and leaderboard positions are not property, have no monetary value, and cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money or anything of value. Nothing in the Game is gambling: there is no stake, no wager and no prize of value.

4. Fair play

By playing online you agree not to:

• use a chess engine, another person, an analysis tool or any outside assistance during a rated game;
• use a modified client, automation, or exploit a bug to affect a result;
• deliberately stall, abandon games, or arrange results to move a rating or a leaderboard position;
• create multiple accounts to farm rating, trophies or coins.

Our server verifies every rated result — human moves are validated and clocked by the server, and games against bots are replayed move by move before they count. We may void results, reset a rating, remove leaderboard entries, or suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules. If you believe another player cheated or behaved abusively, email us at contact@cognitivesquad.comwith the date, the time control and your opponent’s handle.

5. Your content

The only thing you publish to other players is your handle and your choice of avatar and cosmetics. Everything else in the Game — the pieces, boards, characters, artwork, audio, puzzles and text — belongs to Cognitive Squad or its licensors, and may not be copied, extracted or redistributed.

6. Availability and changes

The Game is provided “as is” and “as available”. Games against bots work offline; online play, the leaderboard and seasons need a working connection and our servers. We work to keep them up but do not guarantee it, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features, seasons or the Game itself. A season may end and reset seasonal counts.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cognitive Squad is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost ratings, coins, cosmetics or progress, arising from your use of the Game.

8. Ending it

You can stop using the Game at any time and delete your account from inside it — see Account Deletion. We may terminate an account that breaks these Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
